I grew up in a small Oklahoma town, riding horses bareback and wearing cowboy boots with my Easter dresses—an upbringing that quietly shaped the foundation of my artistic voice.
Now living on ten acres in the countryside outside Tulsa, I’m surrounded daily by a menagerie of wildlife: horses, scissortail flycatchers, cows, and other subjects that continually inspire my work. These images, rooted in the Oklahoma landscape, often become the heart of my paintings.
Working primarily in acrylics, I’m drawn to bold color combinations and the tension created through unexpected complementary hues. I especially enjoy painting with a palette knife, allowing spontaneous shapes, texture, and movement to emerge naturally across the canvas. The unpredictability of the process keeps each piece alive and evolving.
My work is a continual exploration of technique, texture, and layered depth. With every painting, I seek to create energy, emotion, and a sense of connection that invites the viewer to look closer and experience the spirit within the landscape and its wildlife.
